Sporting and Community Groups in and around Piara Waters

From local sporting clubs to a diverse range of grassroots communities, Aarya is a place where enduring friendships are made and every lifestyle is celebrated. Whether you’re joining a sports team, sharing your interests with like-minded friends, or looking to socialise with your new neighbours, there’s always something happening in Perth’s southeastern suburbs.

Sports clubs in Piara waters

With over 5ha of parks and recreation spaces inside Aarya Estate, including playing fields and community sporting facilities to be delivered by the City of Armadale, it’s easy to stay active and make new friends.

The Piara Waters Junior and Senior Football Clubs are co-located at the Piara Waters Pavillion, the home of footy in the community. From Auskick, Juniors and Youth programs in the PWJFC Pirates through to Piara Waters FC fielding B Grade Women and C2, C2R and E3S Grade Men’s sides, the clubs create a welcoming atmosphere for new members of all skill levels.

Experienced players and first-timers alike are welcome to have a kick with Harrisdale & Piara Waters Bears Masters Football Club. Founded in 2020, the HPW Bears play out of Rossiter Pavillion, fielding men’s and women’s teams in the AFL Masters WA competition.

If footy isn’t your sport, the neighbouring Armadale Soccer Club home ground is only a 5-minute drive from Aarya on Armadale Road. A well-established club with a rich history stretching back over 50 years, Armadale SC offers teams for players of all ages and skill levels, from youngsters trying soccer for the first time to NPL Men’s teams, Women’s junior and senior sides, and a healthy social league.

Closer to home, the Piara Waters Cricket Club plays out of Piara Waters Pavilion, fielding Men’s SMCA and Women’s PSWL sides via the South Metropolitan Cricket Association. Youngsters aged 5-10 are also welcome, with the Woolworths Cricket Blast launching in the 2024/25 season.

Community Facilities

Completed in 2014, Piara Waters Pavilion is the beating heart of sporting life in the area. Sitting on an elevated platform with a stunning view of the Darling Ranges, the pavilion features cricket nets, floodlights, a large playing field, a playground for the kids and a shaded alfresco area for spectators. It’s a place where the community comes together to play, watch, and enjoy.

Social and Community Groups

By getting involved with the Lions Club of Harrisdale/Piara Waters, you’ll be making a real difference while meeting people who care about giving back. The Lions Club is where people with a passion for helping others come together. This local group of volunteers is filled with creative, energetic and service-minded people who are committed to making your community an even better place to live.

Harrisdale Piara Waters Toastmasters is a great place to discover your voice and boost your confidence. Join fun meetings, receive expert guidance, and benefit from a self-paced program and the support of a welcoming community. Harrisdale Piara Waters Toastmasters Club meets weekly at the Carey Baptist College library.
