Congratulations on making the clever choice and choosing to build your new home at Allara! Moving home can be stressful, so we’ve put together a list of important dates and contacts to help you along the way.  

IMPORTANT DATES

To make the move to your new home at Allara as smooth as possible, there are a few things that you’ll need to arrange ahead of time. Once you have your move-in date, why not pop some reminders in your calendar to keep you on track?!

At least 8 weeks prior to your move-in date, fill in and submit:


 At least one month prior to your move-in date, organise:

  • Internet & home phone connection
  • Foxtel cable TV connection (if applicable)

At least 1 week prior to your move-in date, organise:

  • Letterbox purchase & installation (if not supplied by the builder)
  • Mail redirection
  • Utility service transfer/connection - water, electricity, gas
  • Household wheelie bins

 

 

 

 

HOME

REDEEMING YOUR CLEVER LIFESTYLE BUNDLE INCLUSIONS

To make the most of the Clever Lifestyle Bundle (CLB) included in the purchase price of your homesite, be sure to complete and return the following forms:

To ensure that these extras are ready for you when you move in, please complete and submit all forms at least eight (8) weeks prior to your move in date. Make sure you read the terms & conditions that outline the inclusions, exclusions and expiry dates.

 


 

WATER

The Water Corporation is the sole provider of water in Western Australia. Your settlement agent will advise the Water Corporation about your land purchase, so there's no need for you to contact them at the early stages. However, when your home is finished, you will need to contact the Water Corporation so your postal address can be updated.

It's important to know that you may receive water bills even before you have built and/or moved in. Once your property has access to water or wastewater mains, you will be required to pay service charges even if the land remains vacant. You will also be billed for water that is used onsite during the building process.

 


 

ELECTRICITY

Energy consumers at Allara fall into the category of non-contestable customers within the South West Integrated System, which is the electricity distribution network operated by Western Power. This means that householders at Allara will not have the option of selecting an electricity provider. All non-contestable customers (including householder at Allara) in WA are supplied by Synergy.

GAS

There are four (4) retailers currently providing natural gas services to residential homes in WA:

  1. AGL
  2. Alinta Energy
  3. Kleenheat
  4. Origin Energy

INTERNET

At least one month prior to your move, contact a Retail Service Provider (RSP) to start the process of getting your home connected. A RSP is a company which sells an internet plan directly to you, such as Telstra, iiNet, Exetel and the like. These companies broadband infrastructure to deliver the service to you, so the RSP you are able to use for your internet depends on which infrastructure network is servicing your home.

Within Allara estate, there are 2 new high-speed, fibre-optic technology broadband infrastructure networks depending on which Stage you live in:

  • Helios Chase and Stages 1 to 4 is on the LBNCo network - for a list of Retail Service Providers available, please visit their website.
  • Glisten Chase and Stage 5 onwards is on the NBN network - for a list of Retail Service Providers available, please visit their website.

As the customer, your relationship is with the RSP. There is no need to contact either LBNCo or NBN directly.

 


 

HOME PHONE

As a newly developed area with fibre-optic infrastructure, landline phone connections at Allara will be provided by the same Retail Service Providers as the internet. Speak to your preferred RSP about home phone packages. Depending on the provider, this may be packaged/bundled in with an internet plan.

 


 

FOXTEL

Whether you are a new or existing customer, if you wish to have traditional cable TV at your new home, first contact Foxtel on 131 999 to check what cable connection is available at your new address. For existing customers, transferring your service should be booked in at least one month prior to your move. For more information about what to do when moving home, see the Foxtel website.

 


 

MAIL

First and foremost, make sure you have a letterbox! Some new homeowners can get caught out with builders not supplying this as part of the house package so we recommend discussing this with your builder before they finish your home.

Mail redirection is the best way of ensuring that you don't lose any post in transit. Visit the Australia Post website for instructions on how to redirect your mail to your new address. Be sure to allow at least 3 full business days for your application to be processed before the redirection can start.

When moving house there's a range of people and organisations that you need to notify to update your address details for things like car registration, drivers licence, Medicare and the Australian Tax Office. The Australian Government's change of address checklist is a handy resource to ensure that nothing is overlooked when you move.  

 


 

HOUSEHOLD WHEELIE BINS

Once you have finished building your home, you can order wheelie bins for your house by completing a request form with the City of Wanneroo. Bins will be delivered within 3 business days of successful form submission.

The weekly household rubbish collection day ("bin day") for Allara (Eglinton) is a Wednesday.

The fortnightly recycling bin calendar and times for other waste services including bulk verge collection is listed on the Waste & Recycling page of the City of Wanneroo website.

GARDEN

WATERING DAYS

Finding your watering days is easy with the Water Corporation website! Simply type in your street number and postcode for your designated days.

No matter the time of year or where you live, remember to stick to your watering roster and only water once, either before 9am or after 6pm, on your allocated watering days, even if you use a garden bore.

 


 

NEW GARDEN EXEMPTIONS 

You can apply for an exemption if you are installing a new garden or a new lawn, including roll-on lawn, runners, shredded lawn and seed. Both manual and automatic irrigation will qualify for an exemption.

PETS

PET REGISTRATIONS

Make sure the furry members of the family are part of the transition to your new home too and you are aware of the City of Wanneroo's regulations:

Dogs

  • Dogs aged 3 months and over must be registered and microchipped
  • Dogs must wear both a registration tag and disc showing the owner’s name and address
  • Proof of sterilisation is required to be submitted with your application
  • Households in residential areas are limited to 2 dogs

Cats

  • Cats 6 months and over must be registered
  • Cats must be microchipped and sterilised
  • Households are limited to 3 cats on their property

CONNECT

Don’t wait until you move in to start getting involved in the community at Allara. You can get to know your neighbours (and new friends!) by joining the Allara Residents page on Facebook. This page is run by residents and offers a portal to share local knowledge, ask questions and engage in general community chat!

RECYCLING CENTRE

COMING SOON!

The recycling centre is another great example of Allara’s commitment to responsible waste management. As well as general recycling, the centre will give residents access to FREE landscaping materials including garden mulch, sand and limestone boulders!
