Do you have the creative spark to name our new park?

What if you could make your mark on Melbourne that will last for years – maybe decades – after you’ve gone? And what if you could win a $2,000 travel voucher in the process?

Sound too good to be true? Well... there’s a park in the heart of Arcadia (on Harmony Place) that is now complete except for one thing: it doesn’t have a name.

We’re asking you, the community, to give it one.

Entries for our Park Naming Competition are now open but they close on the 1st of January 2019, so you’d better be quick!

We’ll choose the three best names and submit them to Cardinia Shire Council for their consideration and approval. The name of the park will be announced at our Moonlight Cinema evening to be held early next year, with the winner taking home a $2,000 travel voucher.

The name is up to you. But if you’re looking for inspiration, here’s what we can tell you about the park:

~ The play equipment has been designed for kids (and kids at heart) who love to climb

~ We’ve designed the park so there’s plenty of green space to encourage community connection through picnics and get-togethers

~ The park will have free wireless internet in the near future

~ Arcadia is both a real place in Greece as well as a kind of paradise in Greek mythology, so it’s fitting that this park is situated on Harmony Place

~ The name should be less than 3 words and easy to pronounce/read
