Working With Our Community to Improve Active Transport

Catalina’s focus on well-being and eco-friendly living aligns perfectly with the City of Wanneroo’s Active Transport Plan. The Active Transport Plan is a long-term initiative to improve safety and connectivity for the growing population in Perth’s northern suburbs. It is already delivering benefits in Clarkson:

  • Wayfinding signage: Improved signage linking Clarkson Train Station to Ocean Keys Shopping Centre to facilitate easier navigation without needing a car.
  • Collaborative efforts: The City is working with METRONET, the Perth Transit Authority, and developers like Satterley to enhance public transport access, especially in new communities like Catalina.
  • Community education: Promoting the benefits of active travel to foster healthier lifestyles.
  • Upgraded trails: New and upgraded walking trails, including coastal walks that are accessible from Catalina, encourage people to explore the heritage and beauty in their backyard.
