The latest news making headlines at Eden Beach

Seaside Cinemas March 2017

The final cinema of the series was by far the funniest! As well as the laugh-out-loud Kiwi film The Hunt For The Wilderpeople, the crowd was mesmerised by Manawa Mai Tawhiti (Maori Cultural Group), who had the entire foreshore on their feet and copying their moves! This was definitely one to remember!

Seaside Cinemas February 2017

February was a movie night for the grown ups, with the chance to enjoy live music from The City Views before the screening of The Theory Of Everything.

Seaside Cinemas- January 2017

A curious evening of wondrous delights was held on 20 January as we screened "Alice Through the Looking Glass".

The Queen of Hearts would've loved our Flamingo Croquet area and the Mad Hatter would've been so excited to see the teacup and saucer ride!

Seaside Cinemas- Christmas Edition!

Eden Beach was alive and brimming with Christmas cheer at the December Seaside Cinemas!

Over 1,000 people filled our Foreshore Park for 'How the Grinch Stole Christmas'. The bouncy castle, air brush tattoos and giant snow dome were all big hits, but none of this compared to the joy and excitement that filled the park when SANTA arrived! With a special escort from the Clarkson Police, Santa got to the event in record time, so there was lots of time to meet local girls and boys, and have their photos taken of course!

Seaside Cinemas- November 2016

Friday, 11 November was the first of the Seaside Cinema series at Eden Beach, and what a night it was!

Our new foreshore park was brimming with happy families, keen to see the Disney classic 'The Lion King'. 500 people braved the cold and windy conditions, but they came prepared with dressing gowns, blankets, doonas and onesies! Kids were entertained before the movie with a bouncy castle, air brush tattoos, lawn games and a hair raising ROARING competition!

Be sure to join us at the next one! Check out the "What's On" page for the next screening...

Telethon Home Auction Raises over $750,000

On Sunday, 16 October, auction goers were treated to a range of sophisticated activities including a vintage vehicle display of over 40 cars and motorbikes, free perfume making, fashion parades, and a mini action of donated goods.

For good measure, we also had some options for the kiddies, including a free bouncy castle, face painting, disc golf and cuddly animal farm.

Approximately 1,000 people attended the event, but only one person would walk away with the keys to a brand new home!
Taryn and her father Trev kept everyone on the edge of their seat as they bid against 2 other eager home buyers in one of the longest auctions we’ve ever seen. After 20 minutes of suspense and bids back and forth, the home eventually sold for $750,000.

On top of the homes sale price, the event raised an additional $3,500 through the mini auction, proceeds from coffee and ice cream sales and donations from our food vendors (who kindly gave a percentage of their sales).

Super Saturday & the launch of the Local Farmers Market

After 3 years of planning and a $3.5 million build, there was only one way to open our new foreshore park & playground…
It had to be better than big. It had to be SUPER!!

Not only did we officially open the park with a free community event, we also celebrated the return of farmers markets to our community!! The Eden Beach team were excited, but the community were even more so, with over 2,000 people coming along to celebrate with us!

It was SUPER by name, and SUPER by nature, with cape and mask making, bungee trampolines, bouncy castle and Velcro fly wall, face painting, airbrush tattoos PLUS Ironman, Batman and Spiderman live!

We were delighted to welcome back some of our old market stalls, who had been missed during the winter closure, as well as introducing some friendly new faces into the market family!

The Local Farmers Market are open every Saturday from 8am- 12noon. Come along and try us this weekend - the relaxed vibe and friendly vendors will change the way you think about grocery shopping!
