The latest news making headlines at Heron Park

2017 Harmony Festival

Our third Harmony Festival celebration was the biggest and best yet, attracting over 3000 people! Over 20 community groups participated on the day, with 14 music and dance performances, a Tea House, community food stalls, Have-a-Go art workshops and 2 art displays.

Everyone has the chance to try out some traditional fashions, with Turban tying, Sari styling, henna tattoos and Maori mokos.

Opening of new Harrisdale High School

The new Harrisdale High School opened on 1 February 2017, welcoming its first class of 220 Year 7 students! The assembly was packed with excited family and friends, members of the local community and special guests including the WA Premier, Hon Colin Barnett MLA and The Minister for Education, Hon Peter Collier MLC. The school will continue to grow with it's founding students, and will have a full complement of Yr 7 - 12 by 2022.

Animal Protection Society Xmas Fair

Baker Park was once again the venue for the annual Animal Protection Society Christmas Fair. With over 35 stalls and a dedicated Kids Zone, there was something to entertain the whole family! The event was a great success, with all funds raised going towards the animal shelter.

Hello-ween Movie Night

This year's Hello-ween Movie Night was held on the spooktacular new oval at the Harrisdale Primary School. The critters from the choir put on a haunting performance, before we sat back to enjoy the movie Zootopia.

Build A Cubby Days

Heron Park held two Build A Cubby days during October, encouraging families to get back to basics and make new friends in our local parks. With sticks, blankets and a bit of elbow grease, we created a small village of forts and cubbies!
