What is the Heron Park Harmony Festival about?

Heron Park Harmony Festival is a local celebration of global cultures, featuring a showcase of cultural performances, community stalls, Have A Go activities such as turban tying and sari-styling, and a variety of delicious food from around the world. This year’s Festival falls on Mother’s Day, so there will be treats and surprises for mothers and grandmothers throughout the day.

The Festival is now in its 6th year and attracts around 2,500 people, so the Harmony Festival Volunteer Team are a really important part in helping make it a success.

Why be part of our Volunteer Team?

Becoming part of the Harmony Festival Volunteer Team gives you a chance to be at the heart of what’s going on in the community – meet new people, be at the centre of action at this great event and help make your community a great place to live.

How much time do I need to give?

There are a range of shifts ranging from two to four hours – or more if you can spare it!

What kind of volunteers do you need?

There’s a lot of things to do on the day of the Festival, so we need volunteers who are reliable and punctual. You’ll need to like working with the general public, and being friendly and helpful.

What should I expect on the day?

You’ll be welcomed to the Festival and given a short briefing. The Volunteer Team work across a range of jobs, from providing event information and assisting with activities, to helping back stage or looking after performers. You’ll be provided with something to eat and drink, and some time to have a break.  The festival is a lot of fun and we try to make sure that our volunteers have a fun experience too!

What happens once I sign up to volunteer?

Once applications have closed, we will select volunteers for the different roles available. We will then keep you updated on your volunteer role, volunteer shifts and other information. You’re welcome to contact us at any time of course, if you have any questions.

As we really rely on our volunteer team to help us, please only commit to volunteering if you are absolutely sure you can attend on the day.
