Maggie Dent Seminar

Hosted by Honeywood Primary School and sponsored by Honeywood Estate. Maggie Dent, commonly known as the 'queen of common sense' presented a two hour seminar at Honeywood Primary School on 6 February 2018.
Maggie's 'Real Kids in an Unreal World' talk offered attendees practical, common-sense ideas to help build resilience and self-esteem in today's children. 120 tickets were sold, with all proceeds going to the Honeywood Primary School P&C.

Quote from Maggie Dent "Honeywood Primary School has been built for the community with community in put and the
presence of heart and soul is obvious. This community is very family orientated where childhood is not only valued it is celebrated. With plans for a fabulous adventure playground close to the school the future of the Honeywood community is shining bright!"

Honeywood Primary School

Honeywood Primary School will open in 2 stages.

Stage one, opening in 2017, will be an early Childhood Centre catering for Kindergarten and Pre Primary students. This mini school will contain 4 classrooms, an administration block, some storage sheds, shaded play areas, lawn and bike track as well as a small library.

Stage two of the school will open in 2018 and will cater from Kindergarten up to Year 6. The design includes four teaching and learning blocks, including one that is specifically designed for Early Childhood children, a visual arts room, a music room, a covered assembly area with a fully equipped canteen, a library, an oval and basketball / tennis courts and cricket nets.

Prior to her appointment, Principal Maria Cook had been the Principal of Ashburton Drive Primary School and Maddington Primary School.

The opening of this new education precinct is momentous for Honeywood as the first school in the estate.
