  • Bus Route 529 stops along Armadale Road (around 700m from Mahala) and takes you straight to Cockburn Central Station. From there, you can hop on a train to Perth or Mandurah, or pop into Cockburn Gateway for shopping.
  • Bus Route 519 also stops on Armadale Road. It’s a direct route to Murdoch, with stops at (Fiona Stanley and St John of God Hospitals), via Harrisdale Senior High School, Stockland Harrisdale, Canning Vale, and Bull Creek.

Train Stations Near Mahala

With major train stations just minutes away, commuting from Forrestdale to Perth couldn’t be easier.

  • Cockburn Central train station is just a 10-minute drive from Mahala. Mandurah Line trains run regularly, taking you to Perth in just 20 minutes. With plenty of parking, it’s a popular launch point for commuters, students, and families heading to Perth or Mandurah.
  • Aubin Grove train station is also just a 12 to 15-minute drive from Mahala. You can board the train to Perth before the Cockburn crowd, or head south to Mandurah in around 30 minutes.
  • Armadale transit station will become a key hub once the METRONET line upgrades are complete. From Armadale, you can commute to Perth or change trains at Kenwick to reach Perth Airport or Fremantle.

With direct bus links from Mahala to Cockburn Central and Armadale, you can leave the car at home and travel sustainably without any worries.

  • Tonkin Highway: Just a couple of minutes from Mahala, this major north–south route connects you directly to Perth Airport in under 25 minutes. It’s an easy drive with the Perth Hills on your right and historic suburbs like Gosnells on your left.
  • Kwinana Freeway: Less than 10 minutes’ drive away, you can hop on the freeway for a straight drive to Perth CBD (or south to Mandurah). Expect to reach Perth in under 30 minutes, depending on traffic.
