The Lakelands Library and Community Centre
Located on the stunning coast just a short drive from Mandurah, Ocean Hill is a thriving community with close by beach access perfect for you and your family. A tight-knit community, Ocean Hill boasts a number of key features designed for family living including an abundance of playing fields, fantastic schools within walking distance and many amenities close by. What’s more, there are plans in place for more open spaces on the estate including a central community park and additional primary school. The park will add to the amenities already available, including the popular Peel Thunder Training Academy, a purpose designed space for dog walking and a kick about with the whole family!
Ocean Hill is also close to Lakelands Library and Community Centre; just a short walk away located at Banksiadale Gate. The library regularly runs activities the whole family can take advantage of and enjoy. Here’s a few upcoming events and ongoing clubs to watch our for:
A summer reading program designed for all ages that runs until 29th February 2020. The purpose of the project is to encourage more people to read and to share stories. The library is offering the opportunity to borrow a couple of books suitable for different ages to read throughout the summer. It’s a great way to get the family reading together!
The Lego club at Lakelands takes place on varying dates throughout the summer and is a great way for youngsters to play together and think creatively!
If you’re looking to take on a new challenge in 2020, why not join your local community choir? It’s a great way to meet new people from the local community and have fun; especially if you have a passion for music and singing! The choir meets every Saturday from 10am to 11.30am during school term time.
The technology tea is designed to offer tips on ways to make the most out of technology and improve your understanding of modern technology. It’s a great place to meet like-minded people, learn new skills and learn about programs and apps that could work for you. The group meets every Wednesday and is open for everyone whether you’re a beginner or a tech whiz but looking for some guidance – all you need is your device!
Saturday Story Time is designed to engage preschoolers and toddlers with reading and have fun at the same time! Each session is followed by arts and crafts- a great way for little ones to mingle with children of a similar age within the community. The sessions take place every Saturday from 11am to 12pm and are open to all ages!
The Lakelands Library and Community Centre is just one of the many aspects of Ocean Hill that gives the estate a true community feel. There are a number of free activities taking place each week, particularly in the school holidays and during term time.
