Local Swan Valley chef, Caroline Taylor of Creative Food, will be the star of the show at our upcoming “Spring Delights” event on Sunday 10th October. The event forms part of City of Swan’s Entwined in the Valley 2021 line-up dedicated to showcasing local makers, growers and artisans from 8-10 October.

Swan Valley chef, Caroline Taylor will be highlighting this season’s freshest produce.

The free family-friendly event will include cooking demonstrations featuring the season’s latest food trends using ingredients gathered from local growers such as Tucker Bush, Swan Valley Sisters, Local Goat in Gingin, Whistler’s Chocolate Company and Mayvaden Farm in Bindoon.

Caroline, who loves cooking with anything seasonal, will be working with produce such as native warrigal greens, Swan Valley asparagus, goats milk and citrus in her range of dishes.

“My family moved to the Swan Valley in 1979 and were a big part of saving the area for agricultural purposes. The Swan Valley and surrounds is a rich and vibrant region for growing amazing produce and discovering historical recipes and cultures,” she said.

“I feel so privileged to be able to promote small ethical farmers,” Caroline added.

One of Caroline’s featured dishes, vincotto and chocolate mousse with cardamom crumb and citrus gel.

The event is the perfect day out for the whole family and will feature DIY skincare workshops and kids crafts and games to keep the little ones entertained. Eventgoers will be also able to grab a bite to eat from one of the delicious food & market stalls and enjoy the live entertainment on the green.

Satterley’s Senior Community Development Coordinator, Lyndsey Stoney, said she is looking forward to showcasing small roadside growers and meeting the local community.

“We’re thrilled to present ‘Spring Delights’ as part of the Entwined in the Valley festival as an entirely free and open community event. There will be something for everyone in the family to enjoy including free samples and take-home goodie bags,” she said.

The event will be the first to take place in Clementine’s new community space, featuring an open-air pavilion, grassed area and sales office that will be available for community use and hire in the future.

Join us Sunday 10 October from 11am to 3pm at Clementine Estate - 85 Orange Avenue, Upper Swan
