A new port for Kwinana

Things are certainly looking positive for the residents of Cassia, with significant investment announced into the economic future and job prospects within the City of Kwinana, adding even more value to the leafy area which is already alive with activities and amenities.

The Western Australian Government has announced a $97.2 million investment into plans to build a new container port in Kwinana, including upgrades to Anketell Road to be used as a dedicated freight to Tonkin Highway and outer Perth logistics precincts.

A new port in Kwinana could see the freight task transitioned from Fremantle Port by 2032, or through a phased transition period where both ports share the task for around a further 15 years.

Work is now underway to determine a timetable for transition and delivery of the required infrastructure such as new road and rail links that will ease congestion and help to improve road safety and efficiency.

With its population predicted to double in the next 20 years, Kwinana is Western Australia’s second fastest growing region.

If you’re looking for a home in the local area, Cassia has land for sale in Parmelia and Kwinana Town Centre within easy reach of schools, shops and recreational facilities.
