Klub Kinkuna was Just Ballin’

On 18th April, Allara estate celebrated the school holidays with the first Just Ballin event at Kinkuna Park, Allara, a part of the Klub Kinkuna series. Our younger residents and the wider community attended to enjoy a day of sports fun, where children could join in one of the many sports showcased in the park, trying something new or to playing a sport they know they love!

Five community sports providers were involved, each coaching drills, skills and games for residents to enjoy. Joondalup Wolves Basketball, Target Sports, Yanchep United FC, Alkimos Ball Club and Yanchep District Football Club were all a part of the days' activities. Each sports provider had the opportunity to advertise their club and to encourage community engagement for the upcoming season.

Alkimos Ball Club ran a sausage sizzle for residents to enjoy when breaking between sports and raised over $400 for their upcoming season. While the kids played, parents could relax with a coffee, listening to music in the park.

The sun was shining, and the park was full of action. Over 500 attendees could choose between participating in the sports activities, playing on the oval or Kinkuna Playground; one of the Northern Suburbs top playgrounds with different play zones, BBQ facilities, fitness, and water play elements.

Allara’s community development team, working in collaboration with local community groups and residents are proud of the Klub Kinkuna series and excited to organise more events like Klub Kinkuna Just Ballin’ in the future.

Satterley Property Group CEO Nigel Satterley said ‘Allara is home to many families with school-age children, and we’re excited to provide free activities in our local park to keep our children active, engaged and aware of our school sports opportunities in the northern corridor'.

With many sporting clubs nearby who are recruiting new members our community has so much choice. Providing our local community clubs with the opportunity to showcase what they do and how much fun it can be is a part of Allara’s focus on building a sustainable and healthy community.

“Klub Kinkuna Just Ballin’ has provided residents and the broader community with the opportunity to try sports from Soccer to Dodgeball to AFL and T-ball. “It’s been wonderful to see so many children having fun and enjoying sports!”’ Mr Satterley said.
