Arcadia charity home about to go under the hammer

There are just seven days to go until the 2021 Home for a Cure, a charity auction offering a rare opportunity to buy a fully furnished family home in one of the best master-planned communities in Melbourne’s southeast.

The four-bedroom Hampshire 25, completed by Porter Davis in September, sits in one of the most coveted locations within Satterley’s Arcadia estate, located in Officer. Sitting on 512 square metres, the home is within walking distance of Officer Railway Station, schools, and the recently opened all-ages ‘Dragon Park’ playground.

We’ve put together a timelapse video of the build, which commenced in late May and took just three months to complete.

A huge thanks to Porter Davis for their incredible work in turning the plans into such a magnificent reality and the many tradespeople and partners who worked on the construction or donated to the finished product.

The home includes $160,000 worth of upgrades and inclusions. Adriatic Furniture has donated $42,000 worth of home furnishings, Fleming’s Landscapes has donated $15,000 worth of landscaping, Bunnings has provided $5,000 worth of outdoor furnishings, and Salt & Pepper has provided $5,000 worth of homewares. The successful bidder will also receive a 12-month subscription to The Age and a 24-month subscription to Stan.

Thanks also to Channel 9, whose Nine My Room Telethon raised more than $3 million, including $600,000 pledged by Satterley and Porter Davis. All money raised during the telethon and the final auction bid go-to children’s cancer charity My Room. They provide support for families, medical equipment for those undergoing treatment, clinical care such as physios and dieticians, and research and treatment trials. The charity’s ultimate goal is to achieve a 100% cure rate for all childhood cancers.

The auction will take place online on Thursday, the 14th of October, at 5 pm. You can register your interest and find out more at
