Camping Spots close to Provence

There are many beautiful places to explore beyond Busselton. While Busselton is just an ideal destination to live (when you see how much tourists love to visit!) there are camping spots nearby that will provide a change of scenery.

Here we’ve curated a list of campsites, some inland and some coastal, that will keep you and your family busy for many weekends to come.

1. Canebrake Pool

Location: Crossing Rd & Cane Brake Road, Treeton WA 6284

This campsite is situated amongst beautiful a natural jarrah and marri environment by the edge of the Margaret River. The site includes one large area for day use activities and nine individual camp sites with access for small caravans.

The campground, and the whole of the South West Capes area, is very popular during school holidays and weekends from October to April, particularly public holiday weekends. Be prepared with an alternative place to stay at these times in case the campground is full.

Bookings cannot me made.

2. Big Valley Campsite

Location: 46 Boronia Rd, Rosa Glen WA 6285

Big Valley Campsite is nestled amongst the hills of a family owned working sheep farm, ten minutes South East of Margaret River.

The farm has a beautiful secret valley hidden from the outside world by natural forest, while still remaining close to all the tourist attractions Margaret River has to offer. Explore the local wineries, breweries, restaurants, arts and crafts, mountain biking, bush walking, caving, canoeing and abseiling. Or even book a brewery and wine tour that will pick you up and drop you off from the campsite.

Bookings can be made here: https://bigvalleymargaretriver.com.au/

3. Sues Bridge Camping Ground

Location: Sues Rd, Schroeder WA 6285

Sues Bridge Campground has access to the Blackwood River for swimming and launching of canoes and kayaks for campers and other visitors. It has undercover shelters with gas barbeques, cold water taps (collected rainwater), dishwashing sinks, food preparation surfaces and picnic tables and benches.

Nine of the 25 individual camp sites are suitable for regular size camper trailers or caravans. The other 16 can accommodate tents and regular size campervans in an adjacent parking space. Two of the tent sites, the toilets and the barbecue shelter have been designed for wheelchair access.

Dogs are permitted and must be on a leash at all times.

Bookings cannot me made.

4. Conto Campground

Location: Conto Rd, Boranup WA 6286

Conto Campground is a large, sheltered and well appointed campground nestled within shady peppermint woodland close to Conto Springs Beach and other park attractions. There are 116 campsites nestled amongst the coastal peppermint woodland, with a range of site types catering for tents through to sites suitable for large caravans and camper trailers.

The Cape to Cape walking track is directly accessible from the campground and nearby Conto Springs Beach is a great place to relax, or to go surfing or fishing. The coastal headland scenery is stunning and most of it is accessible to two-wheel-drive vehicles.

5. Boranup Campground

Location: Boranup WA 6286

This is a small campground set amid the Boranup Karri Forest with only seven campsites, suitable for small vehicles only. You can get to this site by two-wheel drive.

The campground, and the whole of the South West Capes area, is very popular during school holidays and weekends from October to April, particularly public holiday weekends. Be prepared with an alternative place to stay at these times in case the campground is full.
