How has Dalyellup Beach changed since 1999?

Since Dalyellup Beach was created in 1999, families have been calling Dalyellup Beach home. Located in the Shire of Capel, Dalyellup Beach is ready-made coastal living at its very best, providing unique beach front access along the beautiful south west coast.

The thriving community includes over 70 hectares of parks and gardens, 25 kilometres of bikeways and walking trails as well as its own piece of preserved Tuart Forest. Just 5 minutes from the thriving City of Bunbury, Dalyellup Beach is perfectly positioned, surrounded by one hundred and fifty hectares of Tuart forest and natural woodland, and the sparkling Indian Ocean, making it the ideal place to live.

After the first homesites were sold in Dalyellup Beach in 1999, the community has grown from strength to strength and is forecast to complete as a community within the next five to 10 years, finalising a 25 year life span.

Dalyellup Beach has been meticulously designed to consist of a number of precincts enveloped by parks that provide amenity and sustainable environmental outcomes. Throughout the design and planning process, these parks have been created to comprise of significant amounts of retained vegetation and existing topographies.

A carefully crafted community development program has provided the community with vast opportunities for meaningful community involvement in the form of community activities, events and group formation. A dedicated team of in-house community development professionals have been on the ground at Dalyellup Beach since 2001 and maintain a presence 18 years on.

The Dalyellup Districts centre has been a major centre of activity in recent years. The initial plan was prepared in 2012 to guide the development as a whole and has led to exciting amenities, services and entertainment for local residents to enjoy.

The recent establishment of a Town Team called Dalyellup Collective has been an exciting step for the community. This group take a lead in organising community events, while being supported by Satterley and facilitated largely through the Department of Communities and Shire of Capel. From school ‘Parents & Friends’ associations to locally established sporting clubs such as the Dalyellup Beach Surf Club and the Dalyellup Dinosaurs Veterans Football Club, there really is something that everyone can get involved with at Dalyellup Beach.

The opening of four schools and the Bethanie aged care facility saw Dalyellup Beach transform into a largely self contained community. One of the last pieces of the puzzle has been the opening of the district shopping centre which has generated approximately 200 new jobs for the area. The Centre includes a 4,200sqm Woolworths supermarket and 16 specialty stores.

The early involvement of the Department of Education, through the Schools in Shops programs and partnership with the Ocean Forest Lutheran College, has ensured that residents have had access to quality private and public schools from the outset. The schools within Dalyellup Beach are now regarded as some of the best in the region, with many families moving to the Estate to be closer to these schools.
