Mandurah Day Trip Destinations Close to Ocean Hill

Mandurah day trip with young family

There is so much to do in the heart of Ocean Hill. Located in North Lakelands, this thriving community is only 10 minutes away from Mandurah. The ocean and city-style amenities are both on your doorstep, allowing you to experience the best of both worlds.

When you choose to live in Ocean Hill you’ll be a short distance from beaches, a vibrant marina foreshore, shops and restaurants in Mandurah. For the days you feel like venturing a little further from your new home at Ocean Hill, there are a range of exciting destinations to explore solo or with your loved ones. Below we share a few of our favourite spots.

THE CROOKED CARROT

Finalists in Perth Airports WA Tourism Awards 2019, The Crooked Carrot are local farmers who practice a ‘paddock to plate’ ethos, serving delicious fresh ingredients and cuisine from their cafe. Their daily menu includes a selection of gourmet pies, salads, rolls and sandwiches, plus hot dishes, bakery items and a gluten free selection.

On weekends, you’ll find their carpark packed with families on road trips, or locals hosting kids birthday parties – their playground really is something else and will keep kids entertained for hours!

PRESTON BEACH

Close to Mandurah, Preston Beach is a beautiful spot to relax, enjoy the scenery or partake in 4WDing! The endless lengths of clean beaches are ideal for a day with your family or a spot of fishing. Pack your snacks, refreshments and bathers to enjoy the day.

SERPENTINE NATIONAL PARK

Serpentine Nation Park is a sanctuary for plants and animals. Set in naturally beautiful Serpentine River valley, the surrounds have an interesting Aboriginal history you can explore. Time your visit between July and November to see wildflowers and the wooded areas ablaze with colour.

ROTTNEST ISLAND

Hop on the ferry from Fremantle and head across the water to Rottnest Island. Located just 19 kilometres off the coast of Fremantle Rottnest Island is a haven of beautiful beaches, Quokkas and wildlife and trails.

PENGUIN ISLAND
