Nature spaces close to Provence

Wonderful wineries, stunning beaches and parks aplenty; it’s easy to see why Provence is an idyllic place to call home! Provence is popular with locals for many reasons but particularly because of the number of nature spaces within easy reach that residents can enjoy on the weekend or after work during the evening. If you’re new to the South West you may be wondering where’s best to begin exploring. To help we’ve collated a list of our favourite spots and arguably some of the best spaces close to Provence for you to enjoy!

Tuart Forest National Park Trail

Located just a short drive from Provence, Tuart Forest National Park is home to the largest remaining section of Tuart in the World and offers several walking trails to enjoy including the Possum night spotlighting trail, a 1.5km walk perfect for an evening, post-dinner walk so you can see WA wildlife in their natural habitat. The park is home to a wealth of wildflowers and wildlife, perfect for kids to spot something new each time you visit!

Busselton Foreshore

Busselton Foreshore is home to everything you need to enjoy an afternoon in the outdoors. The recent redevelopment of the area is now complete featuring a skate park, a nautical-themed playground and plenty of places to take a walk. The coastal views and sea air on offer are sure to make you coming back again and again to celebrate a solo afternoon or a celebration with the family. There are also eateries at the foreshore to ensure you don't go hungry!

Busselton's Beaches

The beach is a great place to enjoy a short walk, especially in the week after a long day at work. Head down with some snacks or drinks and watch the sunset with your other half. Take a blanket so you can make a stop and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere in the cooler months too. There are fabulous, safe beaches all the way along the stretch of the bay. Beach days don't have to be saved for summer!

West Busselton Bush Loop

A 4.5km trail, the Bush Loop is a dog-friendly walk ideal for a shorter afternoon walk or a leisurely stroll catching up with friends. Located from Frederick Street to College Avenue in a loop, the trail is also suitable for bike rides with the whole family.

Busselton Jetty

The famous 1.8km wooden jetty is iconic in Busselton, with many visitors and locals taking advantage of walking the stretch of jetty, or catching the jetty train to the Underwater Observatory at the end. The jetty offers an opportunity to fish, or jump into the crystal water for a cooling swim during the summer months. The jetty is a great place for the stronger swimming kids to splash in the water while you watch from one of the local cafes or the beach with a brolly.

Vasse Wonnerup Wetlands

Recognised on an international level for its conservation values, the wetlands are key to the local community and a popular place for locals to visit. The area provides a habitat for different species including many types of fish and waterbirds. The wetlands also have a number of trails to explore including differing lengths from 0.4km to 4.6km - something the whole family can enjoy. Enjoy the wildlife, river and flora, a key part of the local community and eco-system.

Busselton is home to a number of nature spaces that all offer something different; from beach views to bushland and wetlands. Provence residents can take advantage of the many nearby nature spaces throughout the year, learning more about the local area and enjoying the great WA outdoors!
