Top 5 local and low cost ways to get summer body ready!

It’s that time of year again! Summer is just around the corner and the warmer weather is on the horizon. Social media is buzzing with workout plans, healthy eating guides and a seemingly new and creative way to get fit!

It can feel a little overwhelming and can turn out to be very costly and far too much commitment for little in return. That’s why we’ve done the research for you and discovered 5 low cost, local and most importantly fun ways to get summer body ready this year at Honeywood, Wandi!

Get active off Bruny Meander with exercise equipment in the park

A $60k investment by the Honeywood Residents Group in 2018 saw an abundance of new exercise equipment installed for varying fitness abilities. There’s everything you need to get fit and enjoy the outdoors at the same time, from upper-body to lower-body equipment right outside your door and there’s also some equipment perfect for disabled residents too -  the perfect location for all!

Take a cycle or walk around the estate to get fit and experience your surroundings

Cycling is a great way to keep fit and enjoy the outdoors at the same time. Grab a bike and head to one of the nearby cycle paths to experience everything Honeywood estate has to offer. Why not bring the kids along too for a full family experience? Cycling not your thing? The cycle paths are joined by walkways for you to enjoy too!

Join your local park run at Shipwreck Park

Parkrun’s are a fantastic way to keep fit socially with 5km runs every Saturday morning. The best bit? It’s completely free to take part and you can make it as competitive as you want by running at your own pace. Sign up online here, download and take your barcode with you to get a time and beat your friends and family.

Hire a Personal Trainer to come to you and personalise your routine

Personal Trainer’s can often be expensive and hiring one can also mean you need to join the local gym too. Openair Fitness, however, offers mobile personal training in the local area so you can workout with a professional wherever suits you! Grab some friends and make it a group session to increase the fun!

Join a Jungle Body Fitness Class

Jungle Body Fitness offer classes at various locations throughout Perth, including Honeywood Primary School. Costing just $10 a session, Kelly Green offers classes on either a Wednesday night or Saturday morning involving light dumbbells and high energy activity. Pick up a yoga mat and some dumbbells and head over with your friends to get summer body ready in a fun environment.

We hope you enjoy our suggestions and get ready for summer in the most affordable, local and exciting way possible, leaving you time to enjoy everything Honeywood and the surrounding areas have to offer! Have we missed your favourite exercise class or outdoor activity in the area?
