Upper Point Cook has sold out!

When the first lots were sold six years ago at Upper Point Cook, we had a bold vision of creating a community that enhanced Point Cook. That objective has guided us every step of the way and we’re incredibly proud of the community that has developed.

Now that every lot in this award-winning community is sold we’re handing over services, amenities and public spaces to Wyndham City Council.

Actually, that handover doesn’t just begin now; it’s a transition that’s been taking place across different stages over the last year and will continue for a few more.

In this article we want to tell you a little bit more about how that handover process works and what you can expect when Upper Point Cook is fully transitioned to Council.

As we mentioned, handover isn’t a single cut-off point or a one-off activity that happens all at the same time. Instead, it’s a steady process involving different rules for different parts of the community.

Each stage of the development is treated separately and infrastructure and landscaping within those stages are handed over to council after a period of what’s known as maintenance.
We’re responsible for the maintenance of roads and drainage, for example, for three months after what’s known as the Practical Completion stage. This is awarded by council before the stage receives its titles.

Water connection, sewer assets, trees, parks and reserves have a much longer maintenance period - two years - before they become the responsibility of the Council.

An important maintenance rule to keep in mind relating to nature strips. Satterley maintain the grass on nature strips until an even coverage of at least 90 percent is established. After that, it’s the responsibility of the property owner.

If you come across any of the above-mentioned areas in Upper Point Cook that require maintenance, you can contact Wyndham City Council customer service or the Satterley customer service team.

We’ve been working with Wyndham City Council since the middle of 2019 to hand over residential stages once they’ve been inspected.

We anticipate the final handovers will take place in 2022.

Sales office and display village
We’ve now officially closed the Upper Point Cook Land Sales Office. Thanks so much to everyone who visited over the last six years.

The Display Village is scheduled to stay open until September 2020, with some builders remaining open by-appointment. If you wish to visit any homes within the village, we suggest you contact the builder directly to confirm their opening times.

The Upper Point Cook Facebook page has been home to news, events and most importantly, thoughtful interactions with our residents. It will be sad to say goodbye, but we know the community is in good hands with the Point Cook Residents and Welcome to Point Cook pages. As we trade out, we’ll be closing the Upper Point Cook Facebook on 15 July 2020. If you need to get in touch with us following this, refer to the contact details listed below.

Looking back
We’d like to take this opportunity to thank all our residents, and all the members of the Upper Point Cook community. While we’re temporary custodians of this community, it’s really you who’ve turned it into what it is today.

In December 2018 the UDIA Victoria awarded Upper Point Cook the best residential development over 250 lots. It was a great source of pride among the Satterley team, and again something we don’t think we could have achieved without our wonderful residents.

Staying engaged with Satterley
Upper Point Cook is the third Victorian development that Satterley will transition out of, and we know how important it is to serve and inform residents right up to the very final day.
