Where is Eglinton, WA?

Selecting the right location for you and your family is an important decision and one of the first steps in choosing your new home. From reviewing school options, places to shop, where to eat and drink, medical and dental services - there's a lot to think about. A location can offer so much more than just the thriving community of your new estate, so it’s important to know exactly what is on offer around you.

Located in-between Alkimos and Yanchep, Allara in the suburb of Eglinton is a growing community on Perth’s north coast. With views to the ocean, Eglinton offers a wealth of amenities for families and couples to enjoy.

Yanchep is located just 5km north of Eglinton enabling Allara residents the benefit of easy access to a number of schools, shops,  medical services and the popular Yanchep National Park, home to kangaroos, birds and the famous Koala boardwalk. Many locals and visitors enjoy an afternoon picnic at this picturesque location and enjoy the walks and trails around the park.

Eglinton is only twenty minutes drive from Joondalup city centre, home to a cinema, bowling alley, an abundance of restaurants and bars and Lakeside Joondalup Shopping Centre. Here you’ll find everything you need from electronics to fashion. The proximity to Joondalup also means that Eglinton residents have access to even more amenities such as medical services, dentists and increased schooling options.

Exciting plans are on the horizon for Eglinton showing significant growth expected in the area, with construction soon to commence on the new Eglinton Station, which is part of the METRONET Yanchep Rail Extension. The station includes a bus interchange and cycling facilities providing more transport links for residents and will be of walking distance for Allara residents.

Showcasing the growth planned for the area, the City of Wanneroo district structure plan for Eglinton includes provision for two new high schools, nine new primary schools and a district activity centre, making it perfect for families.

The location also offers access to a number of stunning beaches along the coast including Shorehaven Beach, Alkimos Beach and Eden Beach, which offer dining options and play areas for children. To the north lies Yanchep Lagoon, which attracts local residents and people from further afield to both swim and snorkel. Slightly further afield is Quinns Beach to the south, which offers a netted swimming area, perfect for the family and anyone looking to swim further out from the shore.

Eglinton's proximity to other suburbs such as Butler, just a ten minute drive to the south, and Joondalup offers residents plenty of opportunities to work close to home or to travel to the city easily thanks to the nearby Butler station, offering direct access to the CBD in just forty-five minutes.  The service, which runs until late in the evening, means it’s easy to enjoy a night or event in the city and make the most of everything the city has to offer, returning home to the tranquil coastal surrounds of Eglinton.

Alkimos, just to the south of Eglinton offers education options including Alkimos Beach Primary and St James’ Anglican School, giving you choice on the right education option for your child.
