This peaceful spot was created as a memorial to the ANZAC soldiers, and to help locals learn and understand the history behind The Glades’ street names. Small but welcoming and well looked-after, ANZAC Park offers shade on sunny days and space for small kids to play.
Brickwood Reserve is one of Byford’s natural treasures. This protected Marri and Kingia woodland is home to an abundance of native plants and animals, with a 4km walking trail that invites you to enjoy the bushland at your own pace. It’s the perfect spot for an afternoon walk surrounded by nature.
Alongside a pavilion and oval, Briggs Park is also home to the Byford BMX Club, one of the oldest and most loved BMX clubs in WA. Whether you’re watching a weekend footy game or cheering on the next generation of riders, Briggs Park is a true hub for community sport and recreation.
Since 2017, locals have lovingly tended their patch at the Byford The Glades Community Garden. By becoming a member, you can grow fresh and healthy food, and enjoy spoils like local honey and fresh eggs. The community garden also runs regular events and workshops, and shares helpful tips for your garden at home.
Casterton Reserve is designed for gathering as a community. With a stage, tall eucalyptus trees, and open space to picnic or play, it’s a park where neighbours come together to enjoy the outdoors.
Outdoor gym equipment, a playground with soft flooring, and a big picnic shelter with seating and BBQ facilities make the compact Cristonia Terrace Park a versatile spot for families and friends. It’s especially popular with kids trying out their gymnastics skills, and neighbours getting together for a relaxed afternoon.
Tails wag non-stop at this fenced play zone with separate areas for small and big dogs. With tunnels to explore, open space to run and play fetch, logs to climb, a sandpit to dig in and mulch areas to sniff, Icaria Dog Park is a safe and social space for your four-legged friends.
At the centre of The Glades Estate sits the sparkling Lake Allambee, making a perfect backdrop for a picnic with your family or catching up with friends. Walking trails and cycle paths connect all six precincts in The Glades to Lake Allambee, making it a favourite spot to socialise or simply sit and enjoy the fresh air. Nearby, you’ll find FOUND. Lab serving up fresh brews and delicious food, and Lakeside Plaza with grocery essentials and tasty takeaway options.
Percy’s Adventure Park has activities for kids of all ages. Little ones can explore the climbing frame and toddler area with a play tower, slide, see-saw, and swings. Older kids have a rope-based play tower and flying fox, as well as a half basketball court. Picnic tables, scooter and bike-friendly paths, and BBQ facilities make Percy’s Park a crowd-pleaser and a great place to meet friends.
Open lawns, soccer and rugby posts, and winding pathways make Veterans Park one of Byford’s most versatile community parks. It’s the perfect place for a casual kick-to-kick or a peaceful afternoon stroll.
Soon to be a centrepiece of the Cardup Brook precinct – the final precinct for sale in The Glades – this oval will provide a brand-new home ground for local sports.
