“We were not going to let an opportunity like this slide” – How Rachel and Nick came to St Helena Place

St Helena Place, a masterplanned community developed by Far East Organization and managed and marketed by Satterley, is one of Melbourne’s most-anticipated residential projects.

We spoke with one of the first couples to buy in this unique enclave within Melbourne’s northeast. Here’s how they came to St Helena Place and why they couldn’t go past it.

Rachel Watkinson and Nick Dean both grew up in the part of Melbourne where they’ve now bought their first property. In fact, both parents of the couple live less than a kilometre from where they will build their new house.

“We have been watching the market for the last year or so, knowing we did not want to move out of this area. However, with little movement in the market here, and most of the houses selling being very old, it had been hard to find exactly what we were after,” Rachel explains.

“We did not want to compromise on location, as this was important to us.”

Rachel and Nick say that the location and price first attracted them to St Helena Place and, after examining the opportunity more closely, they knew they didn’t need to look elsewhere.

“We knew from the start we were going to buy in St Helena Place without a doubt. We were not going to let an opportunity like this slide. It was just a matter of picking a floor plan, façade, and then the location of the block.”

Once they’d found a block that suited their needs, they began to consider homes. The three-bedroom Aspera 1 stood out for many reasons.

“We love the uniqueness of this floor plan. Having the master bedroom on the ground floor is something that appeals to us. Most new builds these days do not have this.

“The facade is a stand out [as well]. It is a mix of modern and traditional. We feel this look blends into the natural beauty that surrounds this location and will be timeless. We also love the large windows that this facade offers and the light it will bring into our home.”

Family is important to the couple, and Rachel says that another attractive element of the floorplan is its suitability for entertaining. With its open-plan kitchen-dining-lounge area flowing seamlessly into the backyard, the Aspera stood out as the ideal floorplan for get-togethers with those closest to them.

The opportunity to welcome friends and family into their St Helena Place home is still a little way off, but Rachel and Nicholas say they’re confident the wait will be worth it.

“We are looking forward to having a brand-new house to create our first home. Having the choice in our build and adding our own special requests makes this house unique to us.

“We cannot wait to create memories in this home to last a lifetime.”
