First time property investor Shaun O’Meara took a leap of faith when he purchased off-the-plan in St Helena Place in April 2022. Living locally in Diamond Creek, he understood how rare quality new homes are in the area and was drawn to the idea of a ‘stress-free’, house and land package at a fixed price.

With the property recently settling and a tenant secured two weeks later, he’s delighted by the early decision to invest and optimistic about the development’s future.

“We bought in Diamond Creek in 2013 so I knew the location was great. There’s a primary school on your doorstep, easy access to local shops, Greensborough Train Station and future transport infrastructure.”

“We also understood how rare it was to have new housing being built in St Helena, especially at this scale with established landscaping and existing wetlands.”

“We were looking to invest in early 2022 and initially we thought it [St Helena Place] would be out of our price range but we found the housing to be very competitively priced.”

For Shaun and his wife, the greatest selling point of the homes at St Helena Place was the all-inclusive package.

“Every little detail was professionally planned and delivered. There was no worry during the entire process. On top of a clear purchase procedure, Satterley provided certainty and full disclosure.

“You don’t have to stress about fencing, driveways, landscaping, heating, or something as small as a clothesline. It’s a true turnkey solution.”

Another tipping point for Shaun was the floorplan and the ability to appeal to a range of renters.

“The floor plan had everything you needed. No unnecessary rooms and the house utilised every bit of land without feeling too cramped when you step outside.”

“Basically, everything you could want was included in the house and with two ensuites, it can appeal to a wide range of renters; families with adult children or two professional couples.”

“For landlords, there’s limited upkeep and you have the security of a seven-year warranty.”

Pre-settlement inspection of the house took place in mid-April and Shaun was blown away by the build quality and finishing touches.

“Immediately we were hit by the high ceilings and the feeling of space and light. The entryway was bigger than I anticipated and the finishing touches were first class”

One day after the inspection, the owners had their first open house.

“The house was snapped up incredibly quickly and the rental price beat the original estimate when securing the loan so we were really happy.

“For me that really underscores the value of working with a trusted partners like Far East Organization, Satterley and Metricon who delivered a great product, ready to be rented and without any stress.”
