Moving into your new home
Congratulations! You’re a Florence Resident and your new home is ready and waiting for you.

Moving house is an exciting time but can often be overwhelming with so much to think about. The Florence Estate team have created this easy to follow, room by room packing checklist to make sure you don’t forget anything from your old house and have everything for your new (or first) home!


  • Food items
  • Defrost fridge and freezer
  • Pantry
  • China and glassware
  • Appliances
  • Utensils
  • Cutlery and cutlery organiser
  • Bin
  • Package any open containers eg: herbs and spices

TIP: Label fragile on any boxes with china, glassware or breakables


  • Washing machine
  • Dryer
  • Laundry basket
  • Iron
  • Ironing Board
  • Cleaning products
  • Laundry Hamper
  • Vacuum
  • Steam Mop

TIP: Make sure your washing and ironing are up to date before moving so you don’t need to move dirty clothes.


  • Toolbox
  • Brooms/Mops
  • Clean and pack outdoor furniture
  • Clean BBQ and disconnect gas
  • Miscellaneous items; backpack, umbrellas

TIP: Use the opportunity to clean out your garage so you don’t bring items you don’t need or no longer use!


  • Rugs
  • Secure drawers and doors before moving
  • Table
  • Chairs
  • Ornaments and photos

TIP: Keep precious family photos in a suitcase and move personally to avoid loss or damage in transit.


  • Electronics

  • Remove globe before moving lamps
  • TV stand

TIP: Secure electronic tables with wires or tape for easy transportation


  • Books
  • Desk
  • Chair
  • Securely pack computers, printers
  • Filing, documents, and personal information

TIP: Carry your personal information yourself and place somewhere safe as soon as you arrive at your new home.


  • Pack toiletries in a waterproof container to avoid damage from spillages
  • Towels
  • First Aid and Medicines
  • Mirror
  • Shower organiser

TIP: Use a sandwich bag and elastic band to transport toiletries that could leak and spoil household items.


  • Bed
  • Bedside tables
  • Clothes
  • Clothes hangers/ shoe racks
  • Drawers or other storage
  • Bedding

TIP: Bed linen and towels are great to wrap around fragile items to support them and avoid damage during transport.
