Construction begins on Botanical’s first park

We’ve just started construction on Botanical’s first outdoor community space, a 7500-square metre park that will be located within walking distance of all homes within Botanical’s first neighborhood.

The park is planned to be completed this Spring, so in the meantime, we have developed some artist’s impression images to show the community what their new outdoor space it will look like.

The park will include a playground incorporating formal and nature-based play elements for children of all ages. There’ll be a 4 metre senior play tower, rope nets, a bridge, a mound with boulders, basket swing and a slide, as well as an alfresco structure and pathways throughout.

The casuarina (evergreen tree) forest at the centre of the playground will feature log steppers and a junior cubby, which could double as a shop and encourage imaginative play. Also for younger children, there’ll be an embankment slide, ‘daisy’ rocker and tube tunnel which will all appear embedded into the landscaping to give children the opportunity to have closer interaction with nature.

For those wanting to participate in more organised activities for fun or fitness, there’ll also be a multipurpose court featuring a basketball net, as well as a kick-about space with soccer goals.

We’ve been really careful with our choice of plants throughout the park, and worked closely with Council to select species that will provide interesting colour, texture and variety all year round.

As you might already know, upon completion, Botanical will boast over 30 hectares of open spaces dedicated to outdoor recreation and nature reserves. As a community with open spaces at its heart, the Satterley team are very excited to deliver the first of many green zones, parks and playgrounds to come.
