Upcoming Sports in and around Heron Park, Harrisdale

The season is changing, and we can feel the chill in the air. This change doesn’t mean we should rug up and stay indoors but instead embrace the new opportunities that await us outside our front door. Heron Park is brimming with outdoor lifestyle amenities, even in the cooler months. Is there anything better than an afternoon in nature on the adventure playground or taking family walks around the park. With over a quarter of the estate has been set aside for natural bushland and open space there is so much to do as we embrace Autumn and Winter approaches.

Getting involved in community sports is a fantastic way to keep active and meet your fellow Heron Park neighbours! Our community is thriving, and there is something for the whole family to get involved in.

We share a few of our ‘top picks’ for sports and activities near you, in and around Heron Park.

Winter means one thing; Soccer. Armadale Soccer Club is a semi-professional club with teams including Juniors, Mens, Women’s and NPL. Between Morgan Park and Alfred Skeet Reserve, their junior and senior teams have matches most weekends throughout the year. With something for all abilities and levels, why not try out for your local team? If watching is more of your thing, watch their games on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. The community spirit of supporting your local team on their way to victory is something you can’t miss!

Target Sports run an eight-week Soccer Program every term from Heron Park Primary School Oval on Wednesday afternoons. Specialising in primary school-aged children, Target Sports provide a fun and social way to engage in your community, get active and learn more about sport after school. They even have a free trial session for you to try!

Arks Rugby Union Club is situated in the Perth foothills at Harrisdale Pavilion on Gracefield Boulevard, Harrisdale where all teams from juniors to seniors play, including Golden Oldies. This thriving club has over 100 Senior and 250 Junior players and growing. Get in the community spirit by joining their team or watching their exciting games, right on your doorstep!

Piara Punjab Club is a community ran group based in Piara Waters. The group describes themselves as ‘an organisation to Promote Cultural integration and inclusiveness in the community through sports, arts and cultural activities.’ Poetry nights, volleyball tournaments and community safety days all take place through the Piara Punjab Club.
